5 Ways to Get the Most Out of ATD22
Loading...

The ATD 2022 International Conference & EXPO is quickly approaching—May 15–18. As with last year, there are two options to attend: virtually or in person. Although the virtual program is a great option for anyone unable to make it to Orlando, we highly recommend joining us in Florida for exciting additional opportunities to learn and connect (and have fun)!

You’ve probably already heard about our amazing keynote speakers and scanned through our nearly 250 education sessions across 15 tracks, including a new track on future readiness. Here are five things at ATD22 that you won’t want to miss:

1. The EXPO

ATD’s annual international conference is home to the largest and most diverse training and talent development expo in the US. Even if you’re not in the market for new tools or services, it’s worth your time to walk the expo floor. It’s one of the best ways to stay in touch with new trends and developments in the field (and pick up some great swag). Plan a few trips—with 300 suppliers, it’s hard to see everything in one pass! We’ll also be raffling off some amazing prizes including Skullcandy headphones, Apple watches, and iPads.

Pro Tip: EXPO-only passes are available.

2. Learning paths

With nearly 250 education sessions, knowing what to attend can be challenging. This year we’re introducing learning paths to help you decide. Curated by our Program Advisory Committee, nine different learning paths guide you to a more tailored conference experience. Paths include:

  • First-Time ATD Attendee

  • New to L&D

  • Instructional Design Trends

  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

  • Level Up Your Talent Development Toolkit

  • Own Your Career

  • Talent Leaders

  • Consultant

  • Global Perspectives

Pro Tip: When building your schedule, flag back-up sessions of interest in case a room is at capacity.

3. Networking Night

Every year, Networking Night is a can’t-miss event. Our conference team always plans memorable and unique experiences you won’t have the opportunity to do anywhere else. This year promises to be dino-mite! This is a separate, ticketed event on Tuesday night, and capacity is limited!

Pro Tip: Wear comfortable shoes.

4. ATD Theater

In the mood for some bite-sized learning? Want to connect with ATD facilitators? Stop by the ATD Theater (in ATD Central) where we’ll be hosting quick-hit sessions on capability-based content from our ATD Education certificate programs like instructional design, rapid prototyping, microcontent creation, business alignment, learning impact, facilitation skills, and more. All sessions are led by ATD expert facilitators and highlight key takeaways from some of our most popular certificate programs.

5. Community Conversations

The connections made are often the best part of attending a conference. Where else do you have the opportunity to vibe with thousands of learning professionals who have similar goals, challenges, and passions? New this year for our in-person attendees, facilitated conversations in a relaxed environment connect you with like-minded professionals who can help you work through challenges and brainstorm big ideas.

Pro Tip: Bring your thorniest issue to the table and crowdsource solutions!

We highlighted five can’t-miss things going on during the conference, but there are plenty of opportunities for learning before the conference even begins! In our preconference learning sessions, we’re offering more than 15 ATD certificate programs, including our popular ATD Master Trainer® certification.
