ASTD Archive Image of the Day: Smile, You're a Sales Trainee, Circa 1967

This photo was published in the April 1967 Training and Development Journal. By using videotape, instructors can show sales trainees how they looked making a presentation to the customer. These videotapes generally lasted about 10 to 15 minutes.

This is comparable to a role play exercise that takes place during training sessions. Besides presentation skills, what kinds of skills development would you have examined using videotape? When do you use role play?
