This image appeared in the February 1974 Training and Development Journal. A job instruction training (JIT) card became famous in the mid 1940s, according to author T.H. Patton. This wallet-sized card was distributed to foreman trainees and others with four or five steps for the trainee to follow, such as preparation, presentation, application, and follow up. Today, something similar would be a job aid or wiki.
In today's training environment, JIT would stand for just-in-time training. Do you have other ideas for what JIT could stand for in the training arena?
What job aids do you use to help your employees maximize their efficiency?
