The Career Development Community of Practice is pleased to offer a number of resources this year at ASTD 2014 to help you advance your career. Perhaps one of the most popular resources is free career coaching, which will be offered at the ASTD Career Resource Center, beginning on Monday, May 5. Please note that the Career Center will be in a new location—right next to Registration in Salon ABC.
Six professional career coaches will be on hand to meet with you one-on-one for a 45-minute session to discuss any career dilemma or challenge you may have--from how to network and define your personal brand, find a new job or move up in your current organization, or put out that shingle to start your own training business. This year, we are pleased to have the following coaches in the center:
Marshall Brown, Career and Executive Coach, Marshall Brown and Associates
Alan De Back, Consultant, Trainer, Facilitator, and Coach, Alan De Back Learning & Communications
Marilyn Feldstein, Career Coach and Professional Speaker, Career Choices Unlimited
Kit Prendergast, Certified Career Management & Social & Emotional Intelligence Coach, Career Connections of Sierra Nevada, LLC.
Barbara Seifert, Career Coach and President, Committed to Your Success Coaching & Consulting
Wendy Terwelp, Author, Speaker, and Coach, Opportunity Knocks ™
Career coaching starts at 7 a.m. on Monday, May 5, and ends on Wednesday, May 7 at 2:15 p.m. The Career Center is open from 12 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, which is a great time for you to come in and sign up for your appointment. Or if you want to register before you get to ASTD 2014, please feel free to contact me, Phaedra Brotherton, at [email protected] to schedule your appointment or to answer any questions you may have.
Even if you’re not interested in coaching, please plan to stop by the Career Center to sign up for one of our hands-on career educational sessions, check out postings on the ASTD Job Bank, learn about the Career Navigator assessment tool, or just to say “hello.” Look forward to seeing you there.
