Conferences are a valuable time to learn and network. And that remains the case for the Association for Talent Development's Virtual Conference. The conference is focused on building capabilities and connections, albeit in an online-only format.
The conference is designed to meet the various needs of professionals within the industry, regardless of where you are in your career or where you live. From training delivery and facilitation to learning sciences and technologies, learning tracks reflect the multifaceted nature of the L&D industry. Further, in the wake of recent developments, we have included special sessions related to the COVID-19 pandemic and ways to manage and thrive in the midst of disruption.
Learning opportunities. The conference will feature 35 live sessions, 100 hours of on-demand content, as well as numerous breakout sessions over five days. So how do you make the most of it? Determining where to begin is often the hardest part.
The conference platform can aid you in narrowing your focus. Ahead of the event, all participants will receive a link to the platform to begin familiarizing themselves with it before the learning begins.
The platform enables you to set up a profile—and even record an introductory video—and indicate your learning interests and objectives. Through the assistance of artificial intelligence, the platform will generate a personalized conference itinerary based on your indicated interests. And your personalized profile can help you connect with other attendees and let them know more about who you are.
Before the conference, identify a place conducive to learning, ideally away from your normal workstation. This will enable you to clear your mind of distractions and get the most from this learning experience.
Online assistance. Throughout the conference, if you have questions about ATD membership or want learn to more about additional L&D resources, visit the ATD Central booth. Accessible via the online platform, this virtual destination is a one-stop shop for all things. Team members will be available to answer questions from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET daily. Yet, at any time, you can also find answers to frequently asked questions via the virtual interactive agent, view videos that explain the power of membership, and more.
Continued learning opportunities. And don’t worry if you can’t get to all of the sessions you want to during the conference. As part of your registration, you will have continued access to all recorded sessions through September 6, 2020, giving you 90 days to keep learning. Making the most of any conference experience is like preparing for a successful road trip: Planning is required. ATD will equip you with tools and resources designed to assist you in making the most of this virtual experience.
Never before has our field been positioned to drive impact, change, and growth as we are today. The ATD Virtual Conference comes at a time when the work world’s L&D needs are evolving at a rapid pace.
Today’s challenges are new to everyone. Make it your objective to come away from the Virtual Conference with new capabilities and connections. We are proud to partner with you on this journey.
For an official introduction to the Virtual Conference, plan to attend a special orientation session on Monday, June 1 at 8 a.m. ET, noon GMT, 4 p.m. GST, and 8 p.m. CST, respectively.
