So the good news is that you’re great at what you do! With anything, success brings the reward of having options. In most cases, this includes options to move up, to take on more responsibility and challenges, and yes, to enjoy a nice raise. This is a good thing right? Well, not entirely, if it means having to supervise others having had no formal preparation to do so. Although the thought of it sounded interesting and doable when you agreed to it, you are now responsible for production of which other people have to do - In some cases, other people that were once your peers. This can be a very stressful situation in fact, studies show that a survey by business publishers Berrett-Koehler, found that only 43% of managers are comfortable in their jobs, and fewer than one in three (32%) say they like managing.

Well, it’s a little comforting to know that you’re not alone, but how do you deal with this? You have abilities, a communication style, patience, you’re likable, most of all, people can learn from your experiences. So why is this so stressful? How do you learn to be an effective manager of people, using the skills you currently have, while developing new ones and increasing team productivity?

At next week’s webinar with Devora Zack, author of “Managing for People Who Hate Managing”, you will learn to:

•develop your own unique leadership style

•motivate and develop your direct reports

•identify diverse personality types on your team

•address current issues facing you as a manager

•better understand those around you in the workplace.

This one-of-a-kind session is upbeat, dynamic, humorous, and eminently practical. Be a success by being yourself—the only real path to exemplary leadership.

We are very excited to have Devora Zack with us and we will be tweeting live from the event so please follow us on twitter: @astdhumancapital
