Digital Employee Experience by the Numbers

There are plenty of complexities and nuances in the business world, but here’s one formula that’s simple to understand: Happy employees equal happy customers, and unhappy employees equal happy competitors. Understanding this simple equation makes it easy to see why customer and employee experiences are interlinked and why the employee experience has become a priority for business leaders. However, right now, the focus tends to be on the digital employee experience—and understandably so. Many companies have transitioned to remote and hybrid workforces. How are they doing? Unfortunately, not great. According to a recent survey, 67 percent of employees feel that their digital experiences in their personal lives are better than the digital experiences their employers provide. Most organizations are working on this though. Over the next three years, Gartner estimates that 50 percent of IT organizations will have established a digital employee-experience strategy—a significant increase from only 5 percent in 2021. Studies also reveal that leaders are finally understanding the link between digital employee experience and organizational success. Another recent study revealed that at least 91 percent of leaders agree that a better digital employee experience would benefit operational efficiency, and 85 percent think it impacts go-to-market speed.
