Faced with the Great Resignation, you’d think employers would prioritize retention efforts, but a new report released by Time is Ltd. shows that’s not the case. The study, which surveyed 255 HR leaders at large US-based companies, revealed that only 39 percent of HR leaders said improving retention was a top objective at their organization. Although, 94 percent of those leaders said they believed employee experience is important, illustrating a disconnect between the views of hiring managers and the current state of their workforces. “If employees are happy, challenged, rewarded and recognized, and treated with respect, they are more likely to stay at your organization,” said Sara Cohen, chief people officer at Forsta. “Prioritizing the employee experience, which is central to talent retention, should always be a top priority for HR professionals … At the end of the day, employee retention is an HR professional’s most important job, and most of what we do should ladder back up to it.”
