Online games aren't just for entertainment. They have the potential to level up your employees. Approximately two-thirds of Americans play games, with 65 percent of them being 18 or older, challenging the perception of gaming as exclusively for children. Given the struggle to boost employee engagement beyond 32 percent since the pandemic, employers are turning to gamification to enhance job satisfaction and productivity. Gamification, the incorporation of game elements into non-game contexts, is considered a valuable tool to increase employee motivation and engagement. A study from India shows that employees using gamified systems experienced higher motivation and engagement, leading to improved productivity. Beyond engagement, gamification can foster healthy competition, reward accomplishments, and contribute to skill mastery. There is a potential for gamification to improve the remote and hybrid employee experience, as well—89 percent of individuals feel more productive, and 88 percent feel happier when games are introduced in the workplace.
