The Great Resignation is in full swing, and forward-thinking employers are taking notice. Valuable talent is walking out the door—particularly young folks who have a lot to bring to the table. If you’re looking to keep Gen Z employees engaged and retained, there are some considerations to take into account. First, try to understand your team’s perceptions. Spend one-on-one time with more junior team members to explain expectations and understand their professional development goals. Follow through on those conversations. “The greatest tools companies have to retain employees are outstanding, applicable, and relevant training programs that give employees a sense of belonging and a powerful reason to stick around,” said Mariana Ferrari of Dooit. “Training programs should be reviewed to aim for accomplishing retention, motivation, and impact. Progress is a great reason for the most valuable employees to stick around.”
