Hybrid Work Is Taking Over

Whether we like it or not, it appears hybrid work is here to stay. A study conducted by GlobalData recently reviewed 4,400 new job postings and found that the number of open positions that mentioned a hybrid work environment rose by 31 percent in the second quarter of 2022. Most of the demand was driven by technology jobs, which saw a 53 percent increase in such arrangements. “As pandemic restrictions ease, the hybrid work model seems to be trending while ‘remote’ and ‘work from home’ options are waning,” said Sherla Sriprada, business fundamentals analyst at GlobalData. “Hybrid work is becoming the new norm in the postpandemic world. Flexible work arrangements are increasingly important to an organization’s efforts for retaining and recruiting employees.” Another interesting trend revealed by the study was that fully remote positions are steadily declining. Job postings with the word “remote” declined by 11 percent over the same period of time, and “work from home” posts fell by 13 percent.
