Some time ago, a member of our leadership team proposed doing away with timesheets entirely. We hire conscientious self-starters, she reasoned, people who are committed to our values and enthusiastic about doing their best work. They should be able to set their own schedules and work in the way that is best for them. Given our workplace culture, timesheets seemed like micromanagement.
