QR codes are about connecting people to one another and to digital content. QR (short for “Quick Response”) code is a matrix barcode (a two-dimensional code) that is readable by dedicated QR barcode readers and camera phones. They are similar to the barcodes used in retail to track inventory, except they can share more information. In fact, QR codes can hold thousands of alphanumeric characters (up to 4,000 characters all in one code), making them a useful tool for any organization. The code usually consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on a white background. However, the code can appear in colors other than black, and the background does not have to be white.
