Reskilling Is a Continuous Process

The pace of change is accelerating regardless of industry. In fact, according to a recent IBM study, 120 million workers in the world’s 12 largest economies will require reskilling or retraining this year. Brought down to scale, that means that to remain competitive, your organization needs to get serious about reskilling its employees—especially if you’re a small business. Smaller companies have a difficult time determining what skills their employees currently need and what skills they’ll need in the future as they scale, but identifying these current and near-future gaps is critical in establishing a meaningful reskilling strategy for your workforce. It’s also important to realize this is a cultural shift, not a one-and-done exercise. Continuous learning based on current needs and expected growth will ensure your organization will remain relevant and not fall behind.
