Member Benefit
Published Mon Jun 13 2022
While it’s not directly related to most employees’ day-to-day job responsibilities, many leaders are seeing the benefits of training their team members in mindfulness. Why? For one, mindfulness training has been proven to increase employee engagement and decrease burnout by helping employees maintain perspective during stressful times and actively participate in their jobs rather than going through the motions. By staying in the moment, employees become more self-aware and are less likely to succumb to the ebbs and flows of the stressors in their environments. It can help employees think more clearly, enabling better communication. And through this communication, employees can often bolster their sense of empathy by seeing things from a different perspective. Conflict will be reduced, and a more harmonious, enjoyable culture and workplace can be established. What’s more, mindfulness training can facilitate better health and wellness in employees. By better managing stress, employees will physically and mentally feel better and have an increased capacity for bringing their whole selves to work.
