Thinking beyond the pandemic, it’s clear that remote work is going to play a much bigger part in our professional lives. “We know two things for sure: Flexible work is here to stay, and the talent landscape has fundamentally shifted. Remote work has created new job opportunities for some, offered more family time, and provided options for whether or when to commute. But there are also challenges ahead,” according to Microsoft’s 2021 Work Trend Index. One of those challenges will be how to best deliver training. Although there are already examples of successful online training formats including webinars, small group activities, video tutorials, and realistic role-playing, business leaders need to consider the reliability, cost, and return on investment for such modules. Additionally, leadership needs to ensure their employees have the right remote training tools for these formats to be successful, and content that is up to date and current with the current realities of the working world.
