Work has changed. Where we work, how we work, and the skills it takes to be successful have dramatically evolved over the past few years, but training has yet to catch up. Where are the gaps in your organization’s training portfolio? Have you considered mindfulness? What about emotional intelligence? Are you training your managers to identify signs of mental health distress and how to counteract these symptoms with well-being exercises? Consider what Raj Tanwar of Advantage Club Technologies says about the latter: “Mental health and well-being were overlooked topics until the COVID-19 pandemic, but again in the new normal, we are rolling back to earlier times. Issues such as stress, anxiety, and depression have a significant impact on productivity, job satisfaction, and overall morale. By providing training on signs of mental health issues and how to access support, employees can be taught how to maintain a healthy work-life balance.” Every company has blind spots in its training, so looking at your portfolio holistically is important.
