TD Bank’s Girish Ganesan Joins ATD’s Board of Directors

(Alexandria, VA), February 4, 2021—Girish Ganesan, global head of diversity and inclusion and head of US talent for TD Bank Group, has joined the Association for Talent Development’s board of directors. He will serve a three-year term on the board, 2021-2023.

In his current role, Mr. Ganesan is responsible for overseeing development and implementation of all diversity and inclusion strategies, tactics, and programs to position TD Bank Group as an inclusive place of work and bank of choice. As the head of talent, Mr. Ganesan is responsible for all aspects of the bank’s talent strategy and delivery including talent acquisition, learning and development, organizational effectiveness, employee experience, talent management, and diversity and inclusion.

Prior to this role, Mr. Ganesan led Enterprise HR Solutions & Enablement for TD Bank Group, a role in which he was responsible for improving the employee experience through automation, digitization, and process optimization, and embedding a client-centric focus in HR for 90,000+ employees across multiple geographies.

Mr. Ganesan has worked in 50 jurisdictions across North America, Asia, and Europe. Prior to TD Bank Group, he was with Manulife where he held a variety of senior positions in global and regional levels in total rewards, shared services, and HR business consulting. His last role at Manulife included leading a multifunctional HR shared services portfolio servicing 38,000+ employees across 15 countries.

Mr. Ganesan has received several awards and recognition, including Canada’s 2019 Top 40 under 40 and has previously been recognized as the Top Future Leader by HR.com from 2016 to 2018 for outstanding work in corporate leadership.

Born in New Delhi and educated in Canada and India, Mr. Ganesan has an honors degree in Political Science and Economics and post-graduate education in Human Resources Management. He also holds the Canadian Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation and served as a director on the HR Professional Associations’ Board. He is a recognized leader among diverse communities, mentoring newcomers, internationally trained professionals, and LGBTQ2+ community members.
