Every year, the Association for Talent Development honors companies via its BEST Awards program and Excellence in Practice (EIP) Awards. If you're interested in applying for either (or both) award, keep in mind this guidance.

1. Familiarize yourself with each award.

The BEST Awards recognize organizations that demonstrate enterprise-wide success as a result of employee talent development. EIP Awards recognize individual TD practices or programs that have demonstrated clear and measurable results.

2. Note when the application periods begin and end.

The 2020 EIP Awards application period is now open, and the deadline for submissions is August 14. For the BEST Awards, the 2020 application period is August 14 to November 2.

3. Plan ahead.

The applications are robust, asking detailed questions about strategy, processes, and business impact, among other factors. Give yourself enough time to complete the application ahead of the deadline.

4. Metrics matter.

When filling out the application, be as detailed as possible with your data and results to answer the question of business impact.
