In the age of constantly changing workplaces, L&D practitioners are tired, which increases their likelihood for burnout. Use these tactics to guard against such harm in the L&D function.

1. Build wellness into the workday.

Allot wellness breaks to your daily training schedule. Ten- to 15-minute, prescheduled respites enable you to focus on your mental health, destress, or refocus.

2. Cross-train everyone.

Have a team of L&D professionals who can cover multiple training topics and areas. A team that can deploy facilitators and trainers to work with different stakeholders and programs enables its members to be creative and avoid repetition.

3. Create stretch assignments for mental health relief.

Such projects will enable L&D staff to learn and contribute to business projects not part of their daily routine, such as technology launches and marketing campaigns.

Strengthen stakeholder relationships.

An L&D team that collaborates with stakeholders can better plan training goals and provide proactive feedback. The partnership can also reduce anxiety because the team knows about upcoming projects and training needs.
