The article discusses 7 key illusions or indicators of scarcity mentality that hold us back during networking of success. The first is the illusion of not being good at small talk. This illusion brings in a fear that a person has nothing interesting to say and that nobody will want to speak to him. Next is the illusion of comparisons which causes a person to look at others for validation, acceptance and approval. The illusion of struggle comes next which causes people to make things harder than they have to be and resist opportunities coming to them. Then comes the illusion of time that keeps people stuck in the past with bad experiences, or holding out for the future, and hence missing the opportunity of what they can do today. The illusion of control convinces people that all conditions, timings and opportunities must be perfect before they start their act. The illusion of hope which keeps people waiting for someone or something else to make things happen for them, instead of doing what they can do.
