Use drip-feed campaigns to reinforce learning.
Fri Nov 01 2024
Spaced learning involves reviewing knowledge, which enhances retention and application. Drip-feed campaigns are a delivery method for spaced learning, explains Shannon Tipton in "Improve Retention With Drip-Feed Learning." Instructors provide content in small amounts to avoid information overload while including periodic reviews using blogs, wikis, reflection prompts, quizzes, and audio clips.
When determining the best tools for a drip-feed campaign, L&D leaders should consider the following.
Understand your organization's needs. What are the learning objectives you are hoping to achieve? What are your learners' needs? Choose user-friendly, intuitive tools. If your company already uses a learning platform or tool, that will mean less of a learning curve for employees.
Look for flexibility. Select tools that include a variety of content formats, such as text, images, video, and interactive elements. Use technology with the ability to scale and grow as more learners join, and choose tools that adjust to your organization's branding and unique needs.
Adhere to accessibility and compliance requirements. Employees are frequently on the go, so opt for mobile-friendly tools. US employers should ensure their choices adhere to accessibility standards in the Americans with Disabilities Act. Such tools should provide for alternative formats and navigation options. The technology must include security features and follow data protection regulations, such as encryption and regular backups.
