The article reports on the proposed amendment of the 1964 Civil Rights Act Title VII introduced by U.S. Congressman Mark Souder. This act defines workplace religious freedom, and that amending it will mean religious accommodation in the office since it will commands employers to allow employees to conform with their spiritual beliefs provided that it will not inflict excessive adversity in the workplace. However, "reasonable accommodation" is not specified, alleging that the courts have decreed that any hardship is inordinate leaving no legal security for workers. Additionally, Souder aims to assure employees not to select between their work and faith, but majority in the assembly do not accord with his initiative reasoning that it will only boost problems in the workplace.
