The article focuses on the need for individuals to turn difficult conversations into the right direction in order to avoid anger, fear or embarrassment. It is noted that difficult conversations can lead individuals to be caught in emotion's grip. Oftentimes, individuals are trying to avoid emotional distress but they fall into patterns that do not help them. In one case, individuals might stick to an old standby or allow their counterparts to win at their expense. In another case, they might swing to the opposite direction and pay the price of their actions. However, neither of the pattern has chance of being helpful in any case.
