For "tips and reviews for success with online and mobile learning," check out Connie Malamed's blog, (or "blogazine," as she has coined it), The eLearning Coach. Malamed's robust online space is a one-stop-shop for content about e-learning design—including audience, instructional design, learning objectives, storyboarding, tests, and user interface—as well as e-learning 2.0, mobile learning, cognition, and business.
Malamed also writes posts on media design elements such as audio, authoring tools, graphics, and video; and reviews the latest books, hardware resources, and software products. Users can subscribe to a bimonthly email newsletter from The eLearning Coach, with links to the latest articles and updates, and download Malamed's thank you e-book, Spilled Ink: Writing for Instructional Design.
The site's clean and visually appealing design is perhaps one of its best features. Malamed organizes her copious articles well (there are more than 170 of them), making site navigation simple. The blog's homepage offers quick access to valuable resources, including storyboard templates, PowerPoint grids, e-learning "goodies," instructional design graduate and certificate programs, image editing tools, and a glossary of online learning terms.
Additionally, visitors can learn more about Malamed's iPhone app, The Instructional Design Guru, a mobile reference tool that defines 471 (and counting!) terms for instructional designers; as well as her recently published book, Visual Language for Designers: Principles for Creating Graphics that People Understand.
