There's no longer a need to worry about clunky interfaces or dropped calls when it comes to video conferencing. Zoom, a video and web conferencing platform, prides itself on its smooth, easy-to-use, and reliable interface.

Desktops and mobile devices—both iOS and Android—can use Zoom, which boasts HD video and voice, various views and streaming options, and more during cloud videoconferencing sessions. But it's not just a Skype clone. You also can hold simple online meetings, which can be instant or scheduled, and include features such as desktop and app sharing, meeting recordings, and controls for the host. You also can bring your thoughts to a larger group—the tool offers group messaging so you and your colleagues can quickly share text, images, and audio files across devices.

Zoom's technology platform has other applications, too. Larger groups can bring "Zoom Rooms" into their workflow, which offer conferencing that includes screen sharing and calendar integration.

Finally, there's the video webinar package, which can service up to 50 participants (who are allowed to interact) and 10,000 attendees who can view the session. The webinar software includes Q&A dialog boxes, host controls, recording, and post-webinar reporting.

Zoom packages start for free, letting you host meetings of up to 50 people. For teams of various sizes, packages begin at $14.99 per month per host. The conference room options and webinar availability are supplied separately.
