The article discusses the issues concerning skills gap problem in the U.S. Some experts commented that skill shortages appears to be a widespread dilemma across many industries and it hampers their ability to compete in the market. Based on the 2005 Skills Survey of the American Manufacturing Workforce, 81 percent of the respondents said they could not find qualified workers to fill the vacant positions. However, as much as many experts affirm that skills gap exist and dangerous for the U.S., most are opposing on how it came to exist. U.S. manufacturing companies suggests that it needs to focus on increasing the education and skill levels of each citizen so that it can continue to thrive in the global economy. Several graphs depicting the skills gap scenario is presented.
