The article presents a discussion on two books which focus on the power of group behavior. The book, "The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference," by Malcolm Gladwell explains the complexity of societal trends in terms of the ebb and flow of epidemics. The book explains why some ideas invoke dramatic change and others do not. The book, "Who Really Matters: The Core Group Theory of Power, Privilege, and Success," by Art Kleiner tells that organizations are not really about their customers, constituents, or employees. Instead, every company has a core group of people who really matter. The book maintains that most people do not understand how their organization's core group works and, therefore, are unable to join them or influence them from the outside.
