Many organizations approach talent development from the lens of providing what employees need to do current roles well: Give them an orientation and presume everyone can do the job. That type of plan assumes everyone learns the same way and training addresses everything. It also assumes the employees never want to learn more or grow their careers. Limited plans hamper an organization's ability to maximize performance and have well-prepared successors in place. Without different delivery options, initiatives fail or have poor adoption, negatively affecting the company.
