Virtual internships have increased threefold in the past few years, according to Lauren Berger, CEO of InternQueen.com, an internship job board. These internships started at small, web-based companies, allowing interns to work remotely via the phone and the Internet, but they are now popular with all kinds of companies—particularly those that need help with sales, marketing, and social media.
