This article explores some myths related to about provision of corporate training to employees and refers to a study conducted by information technology training firm Butan. There is a need to follow a hands-on, pragmatic approach to instructor-led, classroom IT training, continually evaluating learner performance. The problem with e-learning as a method for teaching a complex or lengthy subject is that most participants drop out of the training before they can accumulate enough knowledge and skills to use in a meaningful way what they learned.
