The article focuses on ways to maximize memory to work more efficiently and lower stress. If one is not paying attention to information, it will not be retained by brain. But one shouldn't retain everything. While taking in information visually or aurally, people should train their eyes and ears to filter out the unimportant and absorb only what is needed. Making immediate use of information to be retained helps in its retention. One way to develop listening and concentration skills is to listen to someone speak while another person whispers in one's ear. They should be able to repeat the first speaker's key points. An alternative is to watch a television news program of a reporter speaking while banners run along the bottom of the screen.
