My Grandmother's Hands: Racialized Trauma and the Pathway to Mending Our Hearts and Bodies by Resmaa Menakem

Taking a deep dive into social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion led me to this book on how we heal from our past to move toward our future. It offers an alternative view on how we can grow beyond our entrenched racialized divide. I recommend this book because it provides an alternative healing method (mentally and physically) when it comes to racial trauma in the US.

Behind The Facade: How to Structure Company Operations for Sustainable Success by Alicia Butler Pierre

Partnering with small businesses led me to Pierre and her work. Small businesses fail not from the lack of customers but many times because of the lack of sustainable processes and operations. Consulting often leads to identifying areas of risk, lack of structure, technology, accountability, and frequently a sufficient talent development and acquisition process. I recommend this book because it ties all you need to know about any business together from cover to cover.
