The article reports on the research conducted by Experience Works Inc. regarding the significance of training in encouraging older people to enter or reenter the workforce in the U.S. Result shows that respondents believe that significant age discrimination still exists in the workplace while one-third stated that the greatest barrier they experienced when searching for jobs is that employers think that they cannot learn new skills. According to Cynthia A. Metzler, president and chief executive officer of Experience Works, nearly 70% of those surveyed, if companies want to hire older people, they are encouraged to provide more training for seniors.
