Anxiety in the corporate world in the United States has reached an all-time high as of September 1, 2003. Terrorism alerts, war with Iraq, corporate accounting scandals and downturn of stock market have created an atmosphere of uncertainty that puts nearly everyone on edge. Add to those challenges some of everyday workplace stresses one will have a recipe for anxiety level that can easily outstrip ability of an organization and its people to cope. Anxiety is a normal, natural response to something people perceive to be threatening. Again just as people become anxious, so do organizations.
