The reason for writing a piece of training literature or preparing a pro-gram is often of greater interest to training directors than is the material itself. When we tell someone verbally about our efforts we tend to emphasize "why" we wrote what we did as well as point out its special qualities. In a written preface, however, we do not s stress the same parts that we do in conversation.
