Sometimes, radical change is inspired by the most practical, even prosaic, events. For example, in the 1950s when Marvin Schwan was working for his parents' dairy company, he quickly figured out that he could sell ice cream for more than he could sell milk. The Schwan Food Co. was born. And in less than two years, Schwan University (SU) has changed the nature and impact of learning and development at Schwan considerably. SU 85 employees operate according to the philosophy, that is, SU is responsible for providing products and services in four major areas, development, education, performance improvement and training.
