The article reflects on the progress in the profession by people around the world that has been captured in the current issue. According to the author, the magazine started after World War II, through the trainers in the baby boom generation, where issues from that era are laced with patriotism and practical tasks of getting the economy back on track after the war. However, as time progressed, it has been observed that new influences came, and all manner of practice and opinion were included in the pages of the magazine. As the magazine celebrates its sixty years of publication, fueled by the professionals it serves and the energy of its parent, ASTD, they are expecting another sixty years in the industry.
