The article presents information related to the shortage of healthcare professionals in the U.S. It is stated that the aging baby boomers is the main reason for this shortage. Studies reveal that the overall vacancy rate for nurses is 10.1 percent, while the vacancy rate for rehabilitation professional varies between 20.8 percent to 10.3 percent. In order to address this problem, it is suggested that people must generate curiosity among young students to build their career in healthcare. Young students should also be provided an educational track to enter college programs and pursue healthcare careers.
