The article focuses on the results of the surveys to chief financial officers of companies regarding the importance of interpersonal, written and verbal skills for accounting and finance professionals in the U.S. In the survey of 1,400 chief financial officers, 43 percent of the respondents revealed that written and verbal communication skills carry greater importance in the age of technological innovations than in the past, while 32 percent revealed that these skills are somewhat more important than before. In another survey conducted by Accountemps, 37 percent of the respondents revealed that they are offering communications training to their staff.
