Belonging is essential to well-being. That is especially true in the workplace. Talent development teams play a pivotal role in organizational efforts to foster a culture of belonging, so it is crucial that TD professionals experience a strong sense of belonging themselves. TD leaders, therefore, must be champions of belonging, actively cultivating it within their own teams. The challenge is that many of them feel ill-equipped to try to foster belonging because it's a nebulous concept—it's a feeling or sense that each person experiences uniquely. Someone will know it when they feel it (and when they don't), but it's hard to put into words.
