The article provides information on the study conducted by author Jennifer Deal concerning generational differences in the workplace. According to her, she has surveyed more than 3,000 corporate leaders. She reveals that the generation gap have to do with influence and power. She claims that the negative stereotypes about each generation are the byproducts of defense mechanism which is used by the competing groups. Accordingly, she further suggests that employers should pay attention to fundamental for all its employees including respect, recognition, opportunities for advancement, competitive compensation, and learning and development.
