The article presents statements from several training experts about the transition of the training profession. Ernest L. Loen, in 1963, stated that the training profession frequently recycle worn-out training methods, thus creating the need to encourage productive controversy and constructive criticism on the profession. Rex F. Sheets, in 1973, stressed the importance of organizational development focused on evolving the most efficient organization through the utmost utilization of human resources for the achievement of financial and social objectives. Stephen L. Cohen, in 1991, advocated that technological advancements, competition, restructuring, and globalization warrant lifelong learning.
