For training purposes, interleaving means to insert similar concepts at regular intervals during a training session, so that learners encounter them repeatedly, and ideally in different contexts.

"Interleaving" could mean inserting blank pieces of paper at intervals within a book; or it could mean mixing digital signals by alternating between them. It also could mean alternating two mathematical sequences. You get the gist.
