The L&D landscape is a complicated space: We have dozens of genres of software, yet few people truly understand what function our software is actually meant to do. It's no wonder companies struggle to make the right software purchasing decision, ending up with software that is not fit for their purpose. In this session, you'll be introduced to the concept of 'jobs to be done,' which explains how the actual function of a product is rarely what you think it is. We'll map out the jobs of software, from LMSes, LRSes, authoring tools, to analytics and more, so that you can improve your broader learning ecosystem. This session was recorded at the ATD 2018 TechKnowledge conference in San Jose, California.
