Blended learning involves the use of many different instructional techniques to meet the needs of participants in a wide range of settings and situations. A blended course might, for example, include a mix of in-person classroom training, virtual sessions, and self-paced components. It is an effective way to deliver training in smaller chunks, to reach distributed teams, or to provide learning in the moment of need. Blended learning has become the preferred approach to training, as it is flexible, cost-effective, and can enhance training effectiveness. To harness the full potential of blended programs, talent development professionals need the skills to identify which learning methods are most appropriate to meet the objectives and create a design that seamlessly integrates components to guarantee engagement and impact.
