Civility is often thought of as a set of stodgy rules or societal conventions that individuals must follow to maintain a polite society, such as: "Don't cut someone off in traffic" or "Do say please and thank you." While such transactional behaviors are useful and encouraged, for people to achieve true, authentic, and effective civility, they should adopt a complete practice of civility, which will benefit all aspects of life.
