One of the greatest challenges we face as talent development professionals is an epidemic of employee disengagement. In the United States, only three in 10 workers are engaged, according to a January 2015 Gallup study. And according to the Gallup article "How to Tackle U.S. Employees' Stagnating Engagement," employee disengagement costs the U.S. economy $450 billion to $550 billion in lost productivity each year, not to mention the tragedy of squandered human potential.
