Scott Hansen is a 15-year veteran of the corporate training world who loves his work in adult learning. Several years of success in Toastmasters led Scott to look for a way to transition into adult learning. His first opportunity was with Stromberg, a time and attendance software company. Five years of full-time travel to train at client sites honed his corporate training skills quickly and effectively. After marrying his wife and welcoming his daughter into the world, Scott looked to continue training without the constant travel. Along came an amazing opportunity with Paylocity, an industry-leading human capital management company where he has worked for past eight years. Paylocity provided the environment for continuous growth as a facilitator as well as expansion into project management, instructional design, curriculum development, and measurement and evaluation. In late 2018 Paylocity decided to send their learning and development team through the APTD certification track, and Scott volunteered to go first. He passed the exam in December and shared his experience with his team. He is now moving on to the CPTD and possibly a master’s degree in adult learning or instructional design.
