Addressing Overt Bias in the Workplace

Marsha Ershaghi Hames has 16 years of experience leading corporate education initiatives. As practice leader of education solutions at LRN, she is responsible for knowledge and advisory leadership around corporate compliance and ethics education solutions. Her expertise is specifically around progressive and blended learning strategies, especially in the framework of experiential and interactive learning methodologies. Marsha has dedicated the past 10 years to advising global organizations on education strategies that simultaneously drive ethical corporate cultures and greater productivity and performance. She holds a doctorate in education technology from Pepperdine University.

Marsha Ershaghi Hames

Marsha Dollarhide is an instructional systems designer for the Defense Acquisition University’s (DAU) South Region, the Army Enterprise Senior Service College Fellowship, and Specialty Engineering and Education programs. In this role, she is responsible for instructional and knowledge systems design, support, and development of the faculty career section, communication, and leadership/resource management. Prior to DAU, Dollarhide served as the contractor program manager responsible for support of the Army Aviation and Missile Life Cycle Management Command’s (AMCOM) G-1 strategic Leadership Development initiative, “Build the Bench.” She led the development of the AMCOM’s Leader Development Life Cycle framework. Earlier in her career, Dollarhide served as organization excellence project manager, Rockwell International, Space Systems Division, coaching site leaders in strategic planning and leading deployment of continuous improvement processes. Dollarhide is certified as a Project Management Professional, with experience in Fortune 500 commercial, DoD, and NASA contractor organizations, and has led technology and organization development/effectiveness programs, as well as numerous operational efficiency projects with values ranging up to $80 million and up to 75 team members. She holds degrees from the University of Dallas and Western Illinois University. Dollarhide is a member of the DAU Alumni Association, the Project Management Institute, and ASTD and has served on the boards of directors within all these organizations. She and her husband, Lenard, reside in Huntsville, Alabama. They have three children, nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Garima Gupta is the founder and CEO of Artha Learning Inc., a full-service, award-winning learning design firm based in Toronto, Canada. With more than 20 years of experience in learning and development, training, digital marketing, content creation, education, and software engineering, Garima is a passionate learning designer and entrepreneur. She leads her team in creating learning solutions that are innovative, effective, engaging, and meaningful, with a particular focus on creatively employing artificial intelligence (AI) in L&D.

As a business consultant and educator, Garima has worked across diverse industries, earning recognition for her contributions to the field. Under her leadership, Artha Learning Inc. has received numerous international accolades, including multiple Brandon Hall Awards, TMG Network Choice Awards, and various honors from Hermes, IMA, Marcom, and the International E-Learning Association.

Garima is a regular speaker at major international conferences, including the ATD International Conference & EXPO, DevLearn, and Training, where she shares insights on AI integration in L&D, innovative instructional design, and the future of workplace and higher-ed learning. She holds an MEd in adult education, a BE in software engineering, and is a certified Training & Development Professional (CTDP®).

She contributes to the industry through her roles on advisory committees, including the University of Victoria’s Certificate in Adult and Continuing Education and ATD’s Program Advisory Committee. Garima has also taught a graduate diploma in e-learning design and development at Queen’s College, Mississauga. As a board member of the Institute for Performance and Learning Chapter, she supports the wider L&D community in Canada. Passionate about the transformative power of education, her company sponsors the full operational costs of ten primary schools in remote parts of India.

Garima’s unique blend of technical knowledge, educational expertise, and drive for positive change makes her a dynamic, insightful, and sought-after facilitator. Her approach combines cutting-edge technology with human-centered design, ensuring learning experiences that are both innovative and effective.
